In the Bachelor of Science - Dental Hygiene major at University of South Dakota, students will learn to emphasize prevention and outreach through their work in oral health and oral disease prevention. This program provides them with real-world, hands-on experience in a variety of settings – including dental clinics, schools, nursing homes, tribal hospitals, senior centers and penitentiaries – so they can gain confidence and learn by doing. Plus, students in the University of South Dakota, School of Health Sciences they will study and practice alongside them from a variety of disciplines, which will prepare them to be a collaborative member of their future patients' care teams.
