Course overview
International Direct is designed for international students with advanced English-language skills. The focus is on academic, cultural and professional growth so students can excel in school and prepare for a successful future. The health care field in general and the nursing profession, in particular, are undergoing rapid transition. Nurses today must be able to deliver care to individuals and groups across the lifespan. The Cleveland State University School of Nursing prepares graduates of its Bachelor of Science in Nursing program with a strong theoretical and clinical foundation which is necessary for them to function as professional nurses. Students must complete prerequisites for the nursing major (time frame for completion varies by student) and apply directly to the School of Nursing for acceptance into the nursing major classes. The major nursing classes are full-time and completed in three years. These courses must be completed prior to beginning the Nursing sequence. Students begin their studies in a Pre-Nursing program prior to applying to the School of Nursing.
